Local dog groomer wins national award
Author: DAILY CHRONICLE
Local professional groomer Lisa Leady recently received the 2009
Cardinal Crystal Grooming Contest Judge of the Year
Award. She also was the winner of the 2009 David G.
Salzberg Award.
Both honors are categories of the Cardinal Crystal
Grooming Achievement Awards, which recognize excellence in the
field of competitive and professional grooming. The award
ceremony was held at the Intergroom
Awards Banquet in Secaucus, N.J., on April 17.
Leady previously won the 2003 Cardinal Crystal
Congeniality Award and has claimed multiple Best in Shows and
Best All Arounds.
A certified Master Groomer, she has held a spot on Groom Team
USA and owns and operates a mobile cat and dog grooming
business.
Leady is probably most well-known for her appearance on Animal
Planet's TV show, "Groomer Has It," where she participated in a
series of grooming challenges that put her skills to the test
every week. She is conducting hands-on workshops and seminars
both across the country and abroad.
Presented by leading pet product manufacturer Cardinal
Pet Care, the Cardinal Crystal Grooming Achievement Awards were
established in 1988 to recognize excellence and professionalism
in the grooming industry. Cardinal was founded in Los Angeles in
1948, and now operates out of Azusa, Calif. The Cardinal family
of brands includes Crazy Pet, Gold Medal Pets, Pet
Botanics and Pet
Botanics Naturals.
"Individuals like Lisa Leady have done much to raise the level
of professionalism among groomers, greatly benefiting both the
industry and the pet-owning public," said Barbara Denzer, vice
president at Cardinal Pet Care, in a news release. "As a
supplier of high-quality pet care products, we are very proud to
present these awards, which gives recognition to Lisa's
accomplishments and the example she sets for the industry."
